My Final Article December
In my final article I would like to express how much the National Association means to me. Being Miss N.A.R.C. & S.P. Queen gave me the chance to learn and grow as a person as well as a chance to give a little something back to our association. The last 3 years of my life have been trying, with the deaths of my parents. However, you the National Association stepped in and helped me get back on the old horse called “LIFE”. I think that horse has thrown me more than Rerun.
One member in particular has gone above and beyond the lengths that any normal human is willing to do. This person is Sadie Garrett. Sadie has provided me with my clothes pressed; a clean saddle and blanket as well as making sure I had a horse to ride. Sadie made it were all I had to do was get to the event, smile, and have fun. Every morning before the day’s event she would call and make sure I was up and on my way. She did all of these things and more without being asked or without asking more than for me to do my best in return. Sadie is my aunt, my teacher, my savings & loan, my hope, my life, my guardian angel, and MY QUEEN. I love you, Sadie. Thank You.
There are also 2 other people that need to be thanked that I did not mention at Convention:
Brandi Roland, thank you for having the courage to take on the Queens and for making 2003 spectacular.
Kristal Halbert, thank you for your patience when it came to getting my article, whether it was my computer misbehaving or me losing track of time.
I must now bring this to a close. I will forever be in debt to Sadie and you, the National Association for helping me grow as a person and for providing me with the stepping-stones to overcome my obstacles and hard times. I will end my year with more than a crown, saddle, buckle, and scholarship. I will end with the lifetime of memories that you have granted me.
I turn it over to you, Shannon with a word of warning and advice. Pepper makes it almost impossible to refrain from laughing at the most inopportune moments and to take advantage of the time you have and maximize its possibilities.
Ending With Love and a Smile,
Janie Warren
